Sunday was a good day. It was first weekend of the NFL season and the New York Giants won. There was another great Mad Men episode. The awesome season finale of Entourage left most of the characters in shambles. Last but not least, the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards drew 11 million viewers; it's biggest audience in 8 years.
I had waited months for this night. The band I was rooting for was going to perform. See my previous post "What Do 'Goodfellas,' Social Media, MTV, 'The Terminator,' Tequila and Torture Have To Do With My New Favorite Band?"
At around 9:45 pm ET (traditionally one of the highest rated segments of the show), UK based band, Florence + The Machine took the stage. It was the highlight of the telecast.
It was visually stunning, original and her voice was perfect.
Within 24 hours, Florence + The Machine are on fire.
The album, LUNGS, is #2. "Dog Days are Over" is #5 on the song chart.
In the news:
The media buzz is growing.
Over the next few weeks and months we'll see and hear a lot more from Florence + The Machine. That's a good thing. Be sure to check them out live on tour.
